Hatha Yoga

Hatha is a form of yoga that gives importance to physical exercises to master the body along with mind as well as exercises to withdraw it from outside objects. The word haṭha means "strength" in Sanskrit. The term "Hatha yoga" indicate a system of supplementary physical techniques within the broader concept of Yoga.” The word may also mean “willfully"

Hatha Yoga includes a vast range of different styles of approach to Yoga and Asana practice. Whatever the style it is important that the Yoga fits the student wherever they currently are physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The Hatha Yoga practice emphasises proper diet, processes to internally purify the body, proper breathing and its regulation particularly during the yoga practice, and the exercise routine consisting of asanas i.e bodily postures. The methodology includes sequences such as the Surya Namaskar, or “Sun Salutation", which consists of several asanas performed as a fluid movement sequence. Hatha Yoga has a vast array of tools for promoting health and well-being in any individual. These include breathing exercises, work with sound, visualisation, meditation, mantra, lifestyle & dietary recommendations, self-inquiry as well as physical postures, movement and relaxation.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

This wonderful form of yoga combines strength and flexibility in a flowing sequence of asanas where movement is synchronised with breath, creating heat and cleansing toxins from all systems of the body.

The ultimate purpose of the Ashtanga practice is purification of the body and mind. By moving so quickly and powerfully, you will get a lot of Tapas and everything extra, physical and mental, will have to get out the way. This practice has a strong sense of purpose and you are forced to focus and grow.

Ashtanga comes with all the benefits of a regular yoga practice–strength, flexibility, stress management, and inner peace. Because the series is so demanding (and in traditional practice you’re expected to practice most days) you will get really strong really fast. There is no part of the body that doesn’t work firm in this practice.
