Procedure to do Shitkari Pranayama:

  • Sit in any meditative posture, close your eyes and relax the whole body.
  • Hold the teeth together, leave the tongue free. Practise a controlled inhalation through the teeth.
  • At the end of inhalation, close the mouth and exhale through the nose.

 

Benefits:

  • Same as Sheethali Pranayama.
  • Is also good for menopause.

 

Limitations:

  • Same as Sheethali Pranayama
  • People with missing teeth and those who are wearing braces should avoid.

 

Mudra:

Chin mudra or Gnana mudra.
