Yoga Mudrasana

Yoga Baratha

Yoga Mudrasana - also known as Psychic Union Pose. It should be practised by the people who can comfortably sit in Padmasana.

 

Technique: Sit in padmasana with eyes closed and keep the body relaxed. Continue to breathe normally and hold one wrist behind the back with the other hand. Inhale, and while exhaling, bend forward, spine straight - bringing the forehead to the ground. Continue to breathe slowly and deeply and stay for one or two minutes if comfortable.

 

Benefits:

  • Excellent asana for massaging the abdominal organs.
  • Removes constipation and indigestion.
  • Stretches the back freeing the spinal nerves, thus contributing to over-all well being.
  • It induces tranquility.
  • Clears and balances physical, emotional and mental blocks.

 

Variation (For beginners): If anyone is not able to touch the floor with their forehead, instead of staying in final position, the body is raised and lowered few times by co-ordinating movement with breath.
